Is Therapy for You?

It can be hard to decide what sort of therapist you want. There are so many different types; CBT (cognitive behavioural therapists), mindfulness practitioners and psychoanalysts to mention just a few…

How do you know which therapy to choose when you don’t know exactly what’s on offer or what you want?

There are many different successful types of counselling and psychotherapy. I am trained in a model of psychotherapy called Transactional Analysis, which I believe this comprises effective aspects of many other therapies in a clear, flexible and empowering way.

It’s not the type of therapy that is most important….it’s whether we can work well together.

…. You are the expert on you and it is my job to learn about you, support you and empower you to decide what you want to change or grow to accept.

You may initially be unsure what you want to achieve or exactly why you have come. There’s no magic formula and we can work together to explore how to meet your specific needs.

I have experience working with clients with combinations of a variety of issues including:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety, stress and panic attacks
  • Low self esteem
  • Eating disorders
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Varying degress of OCD
  • Loss, bereavement and complicated grief
  • Physical, mental and sexual abuse and trauma
  • Facing change and transition
  • Feeling stuck and unmotivated
